The Sparrow Academy announcement this week has been a large step for us at Sparrow Missions.  This commitment to education requires a major focus as a staff and ministry.  “Education” itself is a powerful tool to break the cycles of poverty within a community like the Bordos.  It will make a difference in time.  This commitment is not a short-term mission but one that requires patience and commitment to generations of children and families.  By doing so we will see families and full communities transform.

It’s interesting to watch the trajectory of lives change on such a large scale.  The testimonies are countless, but we are happy to celebrate the ones that we witness.  The largest is the the simple desire for education itself.  It’s pure in a form that can only come from God working in each child’s life.

The testimony of successful education is powerful, but it can’t be compared to the growth that is happening on a spiritual level.  God is moving, and He alone is driving this desire for education.  Our focus is discipleship.  Discipleship has led us to education.  As we move forward pray that God moves in each child’s life.  The “transformed mind” found in Romans 12 is the vision of the Sparrow Academy.  We will provide the best teachers and education available, but we commit to never lose focus on what is most important:
