•Copán (2,000 B.C.) was the Mayan’s most artistically advanced city.

•Its most famous monuments include elaborate stelae, the detailed stone statues of Copan’s rulers.

•Copan's Golden Era lasted from 465 A.D. to 822 A.D.

•War, sudden rebellion, and rampant disease are some of the more popular theories of their disappearance.
