Our greatest passion is seeing people know Jesus. We have been married for 17 years and have traveled the world together. We love experiencing culture, food, and good coffee. We have three amazing children: Emma, Grace, and Micah.

Prior to joining Sparrow, our family planted a multiethnic church in Northeast Atlanta, not far from where John was raised. Before church planting, John served as a College; Student Pastor, an adjunct professor, and the Senior Director of Global Impact at the Agapao Movement, with a focus on training and equipping global leaders in South Asia. Before entering full-time church ministry, John served nearly 12 years in the US Army.

Abi was born in Manila, Philippines and grew up in a missionary family, living across the United States, Brazil, and Peru. She learned from an early age what it meant to live for Jesus, but also experienced the realities that come with being a third-culture kid in an ever changing third-culture environment. Abi’s childhood took her all over the world, but she spent most of her formative years living between the Pacific Northwest and Tampa Bay.

After several years of serving the Lord in Atlanta, He called Family out to step into a new season, in a new place. In June 2023 we are relocating to Lima, Peru as Sparrow missionaries to serve at The Union Church of Lima. There, John will step into a new role as the Senior Pastor as we seek God to reestablish and renew this historic and prominent church, with the dream of joining and encouraging the Gospel movement that God is building throughout the city.
